Video & Streaming

Niconico premium link generator

You have a link to a Niconico video—maybe a music clip, a gameplay recording, or a tutorial. Niconico is a popular Japanese video platform where users upload and share content, often with real-time scrolling comments. Free download from Niconico can be slow or awkward because the site limits video quality for non-premium accounts, restricts direct downloading, and requires a login for higher resolutions. Premium Downloader helps you get the file you need.

About Niconico

Niconico (ニコニコ動画) is a Japanese video-sharing service operated by Dwango. It allows users to upload and comment on videos, with a distinctive feature of comments flying across the screen at timestamped points. Content ranges from music covers and original songs to gameplay, anime clips, and educational material. Uploads are organized by video IDs. While registered users can upload and comment, free accounts face limitations on video quality and downloading. Premium membership removes ads and offers higher bitrates, but downloading videos is still not straightforward.

Niconico link formats we accept

  • https://sp.nicovideo.jp/watch/<video_id>
  • https://nico.ms/<video_id>

What slows down a free Niconico download

  • Free accounts can only stream videos in standard definition (360p or lower).
  • No direct download option is available for free users; videos must be re-encoded or saved via screen capture.
  • Video streaming includes mandatory ads and occasional buffering during peak hours.
  • Access to archived or older content may require a premium subscription.

Our generator sits in front of limits like these for the hosts we serve. Niconico is not one of them right now: none of our premium accounts can fetch its files. Paste a link above and leave your email to be told when that changes. See pricing.

When people use this Niconico downloader

  • Downloading a favorite song cover for offline listening.
  • Saving a gameplay tutorial to watch without internet.
  • Archiving a rare concert or event video before it's deleted.

Niconico downloads: questions people ask

Can I download Niconico videos with the scrolling comments included?

Niconico's scrolling comments are part of the video player, not the video file itself. Standard downloads capture only the video and audio. To preserve comments, you would need to record the screen with the player overlay, which is not supported by Premium Downloader.

Does Premium Downloader work with Niconico's 'Nico Nico Douga' mobile links?

Yes, we support both desktop and mobile variations of Niconico links, including the 'sp.nicovideo.jp' and short 'nico.ms' URLs. Just paste the link into Premium Downloader, and we'll process it.

Why can't I find some Niconico videos on other download sites?

Niconico enforces region-based restrictions for certain videos, especially those with licensed music or anime clips. These may be blocked in some countries. Premium Downloader does not bypass regional blocks, so you need a link that is accessible from your location.

What video format do Niconico downloads come in?

Niconico videos are usually delivered in MP4 format with H.264 video encoding and AAC audio. Premium Downloader provides the best available quality (up to the resolution the link allows), typically in MP4. Subtitles or comments are not included.

How much does downloading from Niconico cost?

We cannot serve Niconico right now, so there is no price for it. Paste a Niconico link and leave your email, and we will tell you when it is supported. For the hosts we do serve, each file has one price, set by its host class and its size, or is taken from a package's quota. The pricing page lists those hosts and their prices.

Is it safe to use this Niconico generator?

Transfers run over HTTPS end to end. We do not store the files you download or keep a record of your download history beyond what is needed to deliver the link you requested.
