Video & Streaming

Nicovideo premium link generator

Nicovideo (Niconico) is a Japanese video streaming service where users share everything from music videos and anime clips to live streams and tutorials. Free users often encounter slow streaming due to bandwidth throttling, frequent ads, and limited video resolution. Downloading videos directly from the site can be cumbersome, as it typically requires premium membership or third-party tools. Premium Downloader helps you fetch your Nicovideo links quickly and reliably, bypassing these common frustrations.

About Nicovideo

Nicovideo, operated by Dwango, is a popular Japanese video sharing platform launched in 2006. It is known for its scrolling comment overlay system, which displays user reactions in real-time over the video. Uploads are primarily in MP4 format, and links are shared as watch page URLs. The service offers free and premium tiers; free users get lower bitrate streams and must watch ads. It is widely used by fans of Japanese pop culture, including anime, music, and gaming communities, as well as content creators for live streaming.

Nicovideo link formats we accept

  • https://nico.ms/sm<id> (short URL)

What slows down a free Nicovideo download

  • Streaming quality capped at 480p or lower for free accounts
  • Frequent advertisements interrupt playback
  • Bandwidth throttling leading to buffering during peak hours
  • Comment overlay disabled or limited when using unofficial download methods

Our generator sits in front of limits like these for the hosts we serve. Nicovideo is not one of them right now: none of our premium accounts can fetch its files. Paste a link above and leave your email to be told when that changes. See pricing.

Nicovideo downloads: questions people ask

Why is downloading from Nicovideo slower than streaming?

Nicovideo throttles download speeds for non-premium users to encourage subscription. Free streams are also rate-limited, but direct downloads are even more restricted. Premium Downloader bypasses this by using optimized servers to fetch the video directly, giving you faster and more reliable downloads.

Can I download Nicovideo videos in 1080p or higher quality?

Nicovideo offers 1080p and sometimes 4K for premium members, but free users are limited to lower resolutions like 480p or 720p. Premium Downloader can retrieve the highest available quality associated with the link, though actual resolution depends on the original upload and your account permissions.

Do I need a Nicovideo premium account to use Premium Downloader?

No, you do not need a Nicovideo premium account. Premium Downloader works with public video links. However, if the video is restricted to premium-only access (e.g., paywalled content), it may not be downloadable. For standard public videos, our service fetches the file without requiring you to log in.

How does Premium Downloader handle the comment overlay of Nicovideo?

Premium Downloader downloads the video file itself, not the interactive comment layer. Comments are a streaming feature and are not embedded in the downloadable video. If you want to preserve comments, you would need a separate tool or screen recording. Our focus is on delivering the clean video file.

How much does downloading from Nicovideo cost?

We cannot serve Nicovideo right now, so there is no price for it. Paste a Nicovideo link and leave your email, and we will tell you when it is supported. For the hosts we do serve, each file has one price, set by its host class and its size, or is taken from a package's quota. The pricing page lists those hosts and their prices.

Is it safe to use this Nicovideo generator?

Transfers run over HTTPS end to end. We do not store the files you download or keep a record of your download history beyond what is needed to deliver the link you requested.
